I was browsing Facebook for the Most Recent updates in my world and in the People You May Know your name came up.
I was tempted to message you but thankfully my sensible self decided to share with the world in a nameless form instead. There's irony in there I'm sure...
(Actually I resorted to my quartz crystal pendulum which gave me a strong left-right swing NO)
You gave me one the best compliments ever. Like TOP 10 IN A LIFETIME.
It was 1999 and my high school was having a 25 year anniversary celebration at the high school. I was in my mid 30s, seven months separated, slim, blonde and tanned... And more importantly, I kinda liked myself at the time.
I was standing at the bar chatting with an alumnus. You approached, politely interruped and said
Excuse me, I just wanted to tell you you're gorgeous...
absolutely stunning... and walked away.
Unbeknownst to you, I knew who you were. Your name first came up when I was in grade 8. It was carved into the desktop (an actual desktop). You were a couple grades ahead of me and a lead player on the soccer team throughout high school. More in the 'jock' aka athletic crowd but well-received in many circles.
That's 15 years ago and I've drawn on that compliment in times when I didn't feel quite so gorgeous or stunning.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
You never know the difference you can make in someone's life when you voice those positive observances.

Let's make 2014 the year we make the global shift to a love-based existence.
